Kendall Park Quilts For Kids News
October 21, 2007 - Many volunteers from Kendall Park Quilts For Kids gathered on Sunday morning during the Sunday morning worship service at The Community Presbyterian Church of The Sand Hills.   The members filled the sanctuary with the numerous quilts that they have been working on over the past months.

During the service the volunteers gathered on the altar with the quilts and the Reverend Beth Scibienski blessed the quilts.  The quilts will be delivered to the pediatric units at Saint Peter's University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital both in New Brunswick, NJ.

The following members were in attendance at the blessing:  Karen A., Lisa B., Liz B., Wendy B., Sandy C., Pat L., Alison M. and BJ R.  Thank you to all of our hard workers!  A special thank you to Sandy C. and Karen A. for storing the quilts for us until we deliver them.

November 20, 2007 - It was a cold, drizzly day but Alison M and Wendy B were full of sunshine as they loaded up the van for a trip up to Saint Peter's University Hospital  in New Brunswick, NJ to deliver bags full of bright, cheerful quilts for the children.  Alison and Wendy delivered the quilts to the Office of Volunteer Services.  They were delighted with the quilts.  They were so glad to have them that a volunteer was called while Alison and Wendy were still there to take the preemie quilts and caps up to the NICU right away.  Kendall Park Quilts For Kids is glad that our group could brighten a child's day.

The following quilts were delivered to St. Peter's - 14 Boy Quilts, 14 Girl Quilts, 10 Gender Neutral Quilts,  25 Preemie Quilts and 50+ Preemie Caps.  A similar delivery is planned for Robert Wood Johnson in the next few days.
February 7, 2008 - After reading about a fire in town that left three families with small children homeless, Wendy B. contacted contacted the South Brunswick Department of Social Services to see what assistance we could offer.  Very shortly after that, Wendy delivered quilts to Social Services for six boys and girls from age 14 months to 8 years old as well as one for the mom who is very close to giving birth.  We also delivered two extras so the children would have a selection to pick from and the department could have some on hand for emergencies.

The Department of Social Services was delighted with the quilts we delivered.  We look forward to working more closely with them in the future.

For more information on the fire, see the article in the South Brunswick Post.
